d’Amigo® dog food has been carefully formulated by expert canine animal nutritionists in South Africa specifically for the Pakistan market. Taking into consideration the local grains that are available, its price and the quality of the analysis of each ingredient, the formulation is then produced accordingly.
The product consists of rice, wheat bran, maize, bone meal, maize gluten and poultry meal. These products are all grown in Pakistan. The addition of fats, minerals and vitamins, enhancers and amino acids make this an excellent and balanced diet for your dog.
All ingredients we use are required for a nutritional function so no fillers are used. We do not add artificial colouring to our products
Rice is an excellent digestible carbohydrate source and Pakistan has this in abundance. This product is preferred to maize although in Southern Africa it is not used as it is extremely expensive. This is also an advantage that Pakistan has in manufacturing its own pet food.
In formulating the ingredients, our animal nutritionist in South Africa uses the International guidelines(AAFCO) for assessing the ingredients based on acceptable best practices and the raw materials available in Pakistan.
The protein in our dog food is a minimum of 21%. Protein levels may vary from product to product but this is not an indicator of the quality of the food.
The various formulations that we make will ensure that we adhere to these requirements and will be monitored regularly.

With regards to our range of pet foods, we are satisfied that our canine animal nutritionist, with a wealth of experience in the South African market, which is a well developed market, has all the required attributes to ensure that the products we bring to market are responsible and of excellent quality. We follow stringent recipes and ensure that the raw materials we source and use in our mixtures are of good quality. The pet food we manufacture is scientifically prepared and offers all the ingredients required for a complete and balanced diet for your pet.

After having commenced production of our dog food in Lahore, we have sent our product far and wide for testing by many and have already begun to build a regular customer base.With this comes confidence. Our products are made in Lahore in a clean and hygienic environment with good quality products. We have a young and eager work force who have taken their tasks with conscientiousness and understand the importance of our procedures. I am extremely proud to have been able to recruit a young team that will continue to produce a wide variety of quality products in the yers to come.
Naturally, with the spiralling cost of imported brands, more and more pet parents will be looking for alternative options that are more cost effective. Local producers will enter the market rapidly in the near future. This is a given and is a logical step forward. What will determine the success or failure of a brand will be the quality of the products that are manufactured. Although for a short while local producers will be extremely happy with the protection by government in increasing duties, the real work will then begin: to make a product that is acceptable in every way. We believe that we have a responsibility to all of our stakeholders to ensure that we distribute stock that we are proud of and which meets every requirement.
Supporting local industry is something that Pakistanis are keen to do. But we have a responsibility to do the support justice by ensuring that what they receive is a product that they can be proud of.
Pakistan is a very productive and capable country.
